Residential Programs

• Peak Perks Program

  Participants in Peak Perks save with their smart thermostats by participating in brief, time-limited thermostat adjustments during periods of peak electricity demand that can occur on the hottest summer days.

   

  • Peak Perks events will occur only on weekdays for up to three hours during periods of peak demand for electricity. Events will not take place on weekends or holidays.
  • Events can occur up to 10 times between June and September.
  • Prior to an event, your thermostat may be adjusted down slightly to pre-cool your home or business so that you remain comfortable while an event is taking place.
  • During an event, your thermostat will be automatically adjusted between two to four degrees Celsius to reduce your home’s energy consumption.
  • You are always in control – you will be notified when an event occurs and can opt out at any time during an event from your thermostat provider’s mobile app, or by simply adjusting your smart thermostat back to your desired comfort level.
  • Once an event ends, your thermostat will return to its original temperature setting. 

  Participants receive a $75 electronic prepaid Mastercard when they enroll in Peak Perks. You’ll also receive a $20 electronic prepaid Mastercard for each additional year you remain enrolled

• Home Renovation Savings Program

  Save on Energy and Enbridge Gas, supported by the Ontario government, have partnered to deliver this new program to help Ontarians improve their home efficiency and comfort. Whether you heat your home with natural gas or electricity, this new program offers significant rebates for energy-efficient upgrades like insulation, heat pumps, smart thermostats, energy-efficient appliances and more.

   

  Homeowners can choose to complete a rebate eligible home energy assessment and bundle up, or skip it and complete single upgrades that help you save.

   

  Bundle and Save with Home Energy Assessment:

  • Heat Pump Water Heaters - $500
  • Insulation - Up to $7,700
  • Windows and Doors - $100 per Rough Opening
  • Air Sealing - Up to $250

   

  Single Upgrades:

  • Heat Pumps  - Up to $12,000
  • Smart Thermostats - $100
  • Energy-Efficient Appliances - Up to $200 per Product
  • Solar Panels and Battery Storage  - Up to $10,000

• Energy Affordability Program

  The Energy Affordability Program provides support to income-eligible electricity consumers. The program can help you better manage your electricity costs and increase your home comfort.

   

  You may be eligible to receive different energy-saving products and services, including:

   

  • A free home energy needs assessment conducted by a trained energy professional to identify energy-efficient upgrades available for your home, such as the replacement of inefficient appliances, draft proofing, and professionally-installed insulation. These upgrades may be installed during or after an in-home visit.
  • Free energy-saving kits customized to meet your energy needs. Your kit could include energy-saving LED lighting, timers, faucet aerators and/or a clothes drying line. All expert advice and energy-saving home upgrades under this program are completely free of charge.
